Sadly, real arcades are going the way of the dinosaur, but you don't have to say goodbye to the old days completely. Along with the iCade, Arcadie offers up a bite-sized retro arcade gaming experience, powered by your iPhone.
The Arcadie works with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the third generation iPod Touch. Your Apple device slips into a holder on the back, which allows you to use the 8-way joystick and A and B buttons to mash away, old-school arcade style, on one of six different games available on the iTunes App Store. Purists will balk at such store-brand cereal level rip-offs as Ping, Alien Invaders, and Blasteroids, but those who just want retro-gaming style, regardless of name, are sure to be pleased.
Turning your iPhone into a tiny arcade box comes at the price of about $23, which isn't too bad considering all of the apps are free, with more apps promised to be in development. You can pre-order Arcadie now on Firebox.
